An epic emotional meltdown, as only Lioran can manage it. Nev in the middle holding what she can. And in the cleanup Mariselle says “Everything you just said.” Her voice was steady. “When you’re sober — if you still mean it — say it to me again.”
Oh yeah, because that is the note that is singing in the words at the end despite the full mess and the fact she cleaned blood from him while letting him hold her wrist. So much to suck into the brain on this one. Even the way she calmly talked of how old the broken tumblers are. I loved this part. Even the part with Nev is a strong strain, but gets lost in where the parting words leave Lioran.
That’s a beautiful way to put it—the note that’s still singing at the end. 💚 I think Mariselle’s parting words become the emotional gravity well of the chapter. Everything else is important, but once she gives him that door, it’s all Lioran can hear.
Very thoughtful read, thank you… What you picked up on is exactly what I was hoping would land. Attraction is easy to write but deep understanding is much harder. I’m delighted that resonated with you, and I’m excited (and a little nervous 😅) to share where their relationship goes next.
Warden. Love the Classifier. So good.
Thank you 🙏 I really appreciate you
I appreciate you to Warden. You know that.

Yeah. heart melted. 💕💕💕💕
Roger, I love that everyone remembers the emotional confession and not the fact that Lioran turned a testing room into a botanical disaster zone. 🌿🍷😂💕

ah, that classifying system is outdated anyway :)
